WGBH announced the end of “Basic Black” as a TV production in May along with “Greater Boston” and “Talking Politics.” Layoffs claimed 31 positions. For some with experience inside Boston’s only public television station, the end was expected. WGBH’s commitment to local programs, they say, has been in retreat for decades.
