Rev. Chris Hope leads two influential Boston organizations: The Hope Group and The Loop Lab, advancing ethical AI, workforce equity, and media arts training. The Hope Group is now a premier AI technical assistance and workforce consultancy, serving recent clients like Tufts University and the Black Economic Council of Massachusetts. The Loop Lab, which he founded, is a nonprofit based in Boston that creates pathways into media arts and technology careers for young adults from underestimated communities.

The organizations have won national recognition and multiple Telly Awards, including for recent Audible collaborations that lift up authentic, Black-centered storytelling. The Loop Lab recently partnered with NBCUniversal and is collaborating with the Liberty Mutual Foundation and YouthBuild/Just a Start to launch a new audio/visual careers initiative in Greater Boston. These efforts aim to empower underserved youth with the skills needed to thrive in the AV industry, promoting economic growth and workforce diversity across Greater Boston and are dedicated to empowering women and people of color in the media arts to develop careers in audio and video through job training and placement. Their clients include Pfizer, MIT, and BioMed Realty.

The Hope Group offers hands-on AI training, speaking engagements and custom-built tools that help schools, nonprofits and companies adopt AI ethically and equitably. “We’re a verified issuer of certifications — because I believe access to ethical tech education should be inclusive, accessible, and transformative,” said Hope. “At the heart of all of this is a single belief: People come first. And my hope is that our tools — like our children — can grow up with that truth embedded in them.”

Hope works alongside youth workers, churches and city leaders to prevent violence through presence, prayer and purpose.

Hope graduated from Tufts University, then received his master’s at Harvard Divinity School. He now serves on the board of advisors for MassHire and is a Creative Community Fellow for the National Arts Strategies.

Hope is also a lecturer at Boston University College of Communications, teaching Ethical AI and Business Innovation. He also serves on the My Brother’s Keeper Task Force in Cambridge for the Obama Foundation, a cross-sector national call to action focused on building safe and supportive communities for boys and young men of color.
