Corey Manning has been named executive director of the Yawkey Boys & Girls Club of Roxbury. The first-generation college graduate brings a deep understanding of how mentorship, safe spaces and trusted adults can shape a young person’s future. Growing up in public housing and finding support through organizations like the John Avery Boys & Girls Club and the Lakewood YMCA, he experienced firsthand the kind of life-changing support that helps young people thrive.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in youth development, mentoring and community leadership. Manning’s career reflects a deep and consistent commitment to creating spaces where young people feel safe, seen and empowered.

Manning has held leadership roles at NC Public Allies, Mass Mentoring Partnership, FCD Prevention Works and YouthBuild Global, where he led initiatives focused on Opportunity Youth, Positive Youth Development, workforce pathways and educational programming.

Manning is a skilled developer of people with strong emotional intelligence and a passion for mentoring. He brings a leadership style rooted in authenticity, equity and collaoration. His work is informed by his own lived experience and a long-standing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, access and belonging. He is known for transparent communication, a growth mindset and his ability to build strong relationships with national and local partners.

He is also the founder of One Smile LLC, a consulting and edutainment company that uses humor and storytelling to support healing and connection. A nationally recognized comedian, Manning believes joy and connection are powerful tools for engagement and change.

A graduate of North Carolina Central University and an alumnus of the American Express Leadership Academy through Common Impact, he brings a strategic lens to youth development and a track record of results.

At the Yawkey Club, he is focused on building a welcoming and consistent environment where members feel known, supported and ready to pursue their potential.
