Thanksgiving

Every year many families gather around the table for a Thanksgiving meal. For some it’s a time to reconnect and reflect about what they can be hopeful and happy for. For others, it’s a way to think about and seek out the less fortunate while discovering how to give those people a way to enjoy the day.

We as Black people have a superpower no one can take from us: Black joy, rooted in the never-ending love we have for ourselves and each other. It has kept us rising through it all.

We have become so used to comfort that it’s hard to tolerate inconvenience. But almost unnoticed by us are many occasions that fail to generate our grace.
