Democratic state Sen. Sonia Chang-Díaz ended her campaign for governor Thursday, saying that after painstaking reflection, she’s determined that she simply cannot win.

Governor Charlie Baker announced today that he will not be seeking a third term, guaranteeing new leadership for the commonwealth in 2022.

As part of the first education plan put forward by a candidate in the 2022 gubernatorial race, democratic hopeful and Massachusetts State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz has laid out what she calls a “plan for quality, debt-free, universal public education from birth into adulthood,” which includes sweeping reforms across all levels of schooling.

Sen. Sonia Chang-Diaz, who represents about half of Boston in the state Senate, has joined two other candidates in the 2022 race for Massachusetts governor.

Community members advocated for racial justice across the Commonwealth to the chairs of the new Joint Committee on Racial Equity and Civil Rights, a legislative group tasked with brainstorming policy for impacting communities.
