The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, the state’s quasi-governmental organization focused on economic development in the biotechnology sector, got a new leader this month as neurologist and biopharma executive Kirk Taylor took the helm.

As the state’s biotechnology industry looks forward toward the end of the decade, one focus on its agenda is taking steps to make its workforce better reflect the state’s overall population.

The Massachusetts Biotechnology Council delved into clinical trial diversity and other health equity issues at its annual diversity, equity and inclusion conference July 20.
