Boston City sports eyes are on the John D. O’Bryant girls’ volleyball team this year with a 13-1 record.

A standout among the many success stories from the Roxbury community is that of the three-time Division 2 City Championship boys volleyball team at John D. O’Bryant High School, coached by Paul Pitts-Dilley Jr., whose ultimate goal is to bring a Massachusetts state title to the school.

Since the city’s announcement last summer that a women’s professional soccer team would lease White Stadium, park advocates and activists in neighborhoods surrounding Franklin Park have struggled to keep up with the breakneck pace of project review meetings.
