In the age of ever-present Google calendar invites, iPhone reminders and overbooked day-planners, LaToya M. Hobbs’ impressive woodcut print series “Carving Out Time” is more relatable than ever.

“American Watercolors, 1880–1990: Into the Light,” the beguiling exhibition on view at the Harvard Art Museums through Aug. 13, rewards multiple visits. Adding to the joy, admission to the museum, at 32 Quincy Street off Harvard Square, is now free to all.

“Fernando Bryce: The Book of Needs,” appears unassuming at first glance. On display at the Harvard Art Museums through May 6, the exhibition features 81 ink-on-paper drawings by the Peruvian artist. The drawings, crafted with watercolor brushes, depict front pages from early issues of the UNESCO Courier, a journal historically focusing on science, race, culture and politics.
