Two years after the first center-running bus lanes in New England opened on Columbus Avenue, Boston is pursuing another. Depending on feedback from residents, Blue Hill Avenue’s drivers could lose a lane.

Bus shelters around Grove Hall have been transformed into bold and accessible art installations as part of an exhibition of work by nine local photographers.

As plans to develop housing for seniors and families on Cheney Street in Grove Hall move forward, some residents continue to express concerns about the impact of the new properties on the neighborhood.

Local religious leaders and community members gathered Nov. 9 to object to the proposed construction of a cannabis warehouse and courier service that would be built in Grove Hall.

In 2018, an idea went from seed to blossom for artist Ekua Holmes. The Roxbury resident began planting sunflowers in vacant lots around the neighborhood and distributing seeds to local residents.

Artists Paul Goodnight and Larry Pierce have contributed a new addition to Grove Hall’s thriving public art scene, an energetic 60-foot long piece titled “No Strings Detached.”
