When it comes to reducing carbon emissions, electrifying the vehicles Massachusetts drivers use is a prime target for those reductions.

Electric vehicles are the future of transportation. As a driver of an (American-made) EV myself, I know firsthand the amount of money I have already saved compared to when I drove the gas-powered version of the same model. And that is before considering the benefit to our air quality and the climate and how fun it is to drive.

Massachusetts state officials are touting programs that they say will help people of all income levels access bigger-ticket climate actions in a new campaign launched this month.

Boston is exploring ways to add electric vehicle chargers curbside in neighborhoods to create greater access for residents who drive electric vehicles, but can’t charge them at home. The city’s current selection of chargers is installed in municipally owned parking lots.
