A new SHA Section 8 Project Based Voucher (PBV) Site-Based Waiting list will be open effective on July 1, 2024, for the Waterworks II project. If you have an active application for any of the SHA’s other Waiting Lists, including the Section 8 Tenant-Based wait list(s), the SHA invites you, should you qualify, to also apply for SHA’s PBV waiting list for Waterworks II.

Income limit (50% of AMI, Very Low): 1 person: $57,000, 2 persons: $65,300

New applicants may apply for the SHA PVB wait list beginning July 1, 2024, and may apply to any other open and available SHA wait lists at any time.

Applications are available online at or at SHA, 30 Memorial Road, Somerville, MA 02145. The SHA offices are wheelchair accessible and large print Information is available upon request. Assistance with completing the application including sign language and interpreters available upon request.

For Waterworks II: Seventy percent (70%) of the units will be subject to the Local Residency Preference. The Local Residency Preference will be applied at initial lease up only; following initial lease up, no Local Residency Preference will be applied.

Applications for people with disabilities will be mailed or sent electronically upon request made to the SHA. Failure to apply for this new PBV list will have no effect on current selections for any other SHA wait list.
