The Second Church of Newton RFP-2023

INVITATION TO BID

The Second Church of Newton in West Newton, MA, the Awarding Authority, requests bids for restoration of exterior masonry (including cleaning, repointing, and rebuilding) and flat seam cooper roof replacement on this 1916 building which is on the State and National Registers of Historic Places.

The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must be performed in accordance with the documents prepared by Building Conservation Associates, Inc. (BCA), 10 Langley Road, Newton MA 02459. Work must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties. State law prohibits discrimination. Awarding this contract is subject to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines. A copy of the bidding documents may be obtained by emailing Lisa Howe at lhowe@bcausa.com

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Second Church at 60 Highland Street, West Newton on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10 AM.
Bids shall be evaluated based on price, previous experience with similar projects, ability to perform the work in a timely manner, and references. All bids must be delivered to the architect’s office at the above address or by the mail address provided, prior to 4:00pm, Wednesday, Nov 8, 2023, to be eligible for consideration. All the grant-funded work must be completed by June 30, 2024.
