On Wednesday, March 5, 2025 on behalf of Mayor Wu and the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (OWD) issued an open and competitive Request for Grant Applications (RFGA) for services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Youth Act (WIOA).
The RFGA solicits applications for programs best demonstrating the capacity to provide an integrated and coordinated system of services that stabilizes marginalized youth and transitions them towards career-oriented education, training, and employment. For FY26, consistent with WIOA federal guidelines, OWD will prioritize programs and services that place out-of-school youth ages 18-24 on a pathway towards post-secondary attainment or career-level employment. You can download the RFGA online at https://city-of-boston.wizehive.app/program/wioa-youth-funding starting on March 5, 2025. A Q &A session will be held on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 virtually via zoom; accommodation for people with disabilities available upon request. Interested parties can register for the Q&A session at https://www.boston.gov/departments/workforce-development/funding-opportunities under funding opportunities. A Letter of Intent to apply is strongly encouraged and may be submitted by Wednesday, March 26, 2025 by 5:00 PM by filling out this Google Form https://forms.gle/ARUD9x49Ud6trDaq9.
Proposals will be due via upload to the WizeHive platform by Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 5:00 PM. No email submission will be accepted. The WIOA Y RFGA is to identify programs for funding for Fiscal year 2026, from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Trinh Nguyen, Director, Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development.
