SOLICITATION FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES FOR
MBTA QUINCY BUS MAINTENANCE FACILITY
MBTA Contract # R16PS01

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is soliciting 30% through 100% Design Phase, Bid Phase and Construction Phase Services for the MBTA Quincy Bus Maintenance Facility. The Scope of Services may include but is not limited to: Multi-disciplined Engineering. The conceptual level construction cost estimate for the proposed new construction is $250,746,960. The duration of this contract is four (4) years from the date of Notice to Proceed, with two (2) option periods of one (1) year each. The initial authorization will be from 30% Design Phase through Bid Phase Services and the MBTA retains the right to amend the Contract and add Construction Phase Services.

The MBTA is considering using, and reserves the right and option to use, either Design-Bid-Build or Construction Manager at Risk as the project delivery method for the MBTA Quincy Bus Maintenance Facility project. Please provide a description of your experience with MGL C149A and working with a Construction Manager.

This project is expected to utilize Federal and non-federal funding. The DBE participation goal for this project is 20% of the total amount authorized. In addition, the Authority strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as prime consultants, sub-consultants and suppliers in all of its contracting opportunities.
