DIVISION OF CAPITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT & MAINTENANCE

Sealed proposals submitted on a form furnished by the Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM) and clearly identified as a proposal, endorsed with the name of and address of the bidder, the project and contract number, will be received at the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance, One Ashburton Place, Room 107, Boston, MA 02108, no later than the date and time specified. Bid Documents for this Project are not available through the E-Bid Room.

Request for Proposals due at 2:00 PM: January 15, 2020

Every firm submitting a proposal must be certified by DCAMM for the category of work listed below and for no less than the proposal price plus all add alternates of this project, if applicable.

Request for Proposals for State House – House Chamber and Senate President’s Ceremonial Room Lighting Repairs and Security Cameras, Boston, MA

E.C.C: $629,000

This project is scheduled for 228 calendar days to substantial completion. Scope:

Remove and replace 109 light fixtures within House Chamber dome, install LED retrofit fixtures furnish and install lighting controls. Senate President’s Ceremonial Room work involves furnishing and installing LED lamps and lighting controls, two new light fixtures, installing gypsum board/plastering/painting of ceiling. Furnish and install 59 security cameras.

A site visit will be held on December 27, 2019 @ 10:00 AM. Meet at Ashburton Park, located along the side of the State House at the intersection of Bowdoin Street and Ashburton Place. Please bring a valid ID for the security checkpoint.

Offerors must also demonstrate that they have successfully completed a minimum of three (3) prior projects within the past 10 years that meet each of the three following criteria: i) projects of similar size, scope and complexity; ii) projects involving work in a historical building; and iii) projects in buildings that remained open and operational for business during construction. These criteria can be met by providing information on three projects each of which meets all three criteria, providing information on more than three projects that meet multiple criteria, or providing information on up to nine projects each of which meets one of the three listed criteria.

Minimum rates of wages to be paid on the project have been determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Labor Standards. These rates are incorporated into the bid documents.

Copies may be obtained by depositing a company check, treasurer’s check, cashier’s check, bank check or money order in the sum of $150 payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. No personal checks or cash will be accepted as deposits. Refunds for paper copies will be made to those returning the documents in satisfactory condition on or before ten business days after the submission deadline, otherwise the deposit shall become the property of the Commonwealth.
