Kitchen Renovations at 115 Scranton Ave, Falmouth, Ma

The Falmouth Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for Six (6) Kitchen Renovations at 115 Scranton Ave, Falmouth, Massachusetts.

The work is estimated to cost Forty-eight thousand ($48,000) dollars.

Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 §§26 to 27H inclusive. This project is being electronically bid; Hard copy bids will also accepted by the Awarding Authority. Bids must be submitted electronically at brichards@falmouthhousing.org. Hard copies must be submitted to: B. Richards, Executive Director, Falmouth Housing Authority, 115 Scranton Ave, Falmouth, MA 02540. Summary of Work is available online at www.falmouthhousing.org.

General bids will be received until 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 1, 2022 and publicly opened at the housing authority immediately thereafter.

A pre-bid conference will be held on at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 21, 2022. There will be no site visits by appointment other than the pre-bid conference.
General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation goal reserved for such enterprises shall be no less than ten point four (10.4%) percent of the final contract price including accepted alternates.

GENERAL SCOPE OF THE WORK

A. Demolition: The Contractor shall supply all labor, material, equipment, temporary protections, and tools necessary for the proper demolition and disposal of existing materials to be removed in order to complete the Work described herein, in accordance with highest industry standards. Generally, the Contractor shall remove and properly dispose, or store of the following existing materials:

1. All Units

a. Remove and dispose of miscellaneous items left behind by previous tenant.
b. Remove and dispose of flooring and any associated hardware from the unit
c. Remove and dispose of kitchen countertops.
d. Install laminate countertops and fire-rated back splash
e. Remove replace kitchen sink and faucet with new sink
f. Remove existing cabinetry; install hardwood face frame cabinetry -no pressboard or thermofoil face frames
g. Install energy efficient light fixtures
h. Purchase and install new energy efficient appliances (hood range – 24”, stove – 24”, refrigerator – 20 cu)
i. Remove and replace fire-rated back splash
j. Remove, store and return all kitchen cabinet door and draw pulls to the Owner.

Painting and touch up painting as required (Note: Unit #330- has been generally painted)
