INSTALL CONTINUOUSLY WELDED RAIL ON FRAMINGHAM SECONDARY
Mass Coastal Railroad is accepting sealed bids to install continuously welded rail on the Framingham Secondary railroad line. The project is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Rail and Transit Division (MassDOT). This Invitation for Bids is issued pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, §39M.
THE PROJECT: Framingham Secondary: Remove and replace existing rail and OTM with resilient fastened Relay 131 RE and New 136 RE Continuously Welded Rail (CWR) between MP 1.1 to MP 4.1 and MP 8.9 to MP 21.0. Contractor must show evidence of having worked on an active railroad and being able to complete the work with no or few shutdowns and no impacts to railroad operations. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site tour will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, 10:30 a.m. Meet inside MBTA Walpole Sta., 275 West St., Walpole. Enter parking lot & approach building. Use crossing next to bldg. to access unpaved yard. Please RSVP to Rob Finley at rcfinley@verizon.net.
Prosp. bidders must be prequalified per MBTA “Procedures Governing Classification & Rating of Prospective Bidders.” No award to contractor not prequalified by MBTA in Cl. 3–Trackwork, for a $10.8 million contract value & not at pre-bid. Sealed bids must be delivered by 2:00 p.m. on 11/7/19 to Mass Coastal RR, 12 Harding St. Ste. 202, Lakeville 02347. Sealed bids will be publicly opened at Dept. of Developmental Serv., 151 Campanelli Drive, Suite B, Conference Room 1163, off Rt. 28, Middleboro at 2:30 p.m. on 11/7/19. Bidders must provide the following to be considered qualified for this work: 1. List of equipment to be used inc. hi-rail 2. Completed Bid Bond (5% of the Total Bid Price) 3. List of all work in last 3 years of similar size/scope demonstrating experience & quals as described 4. List of ongoing projects & 3 references from projects listed 5. Approved FRA drug & alcohol testing plan.
