GRADE CROSSINGS REHABILITATION, WARE RIVER BRANCH
Massachusetts Central Railroad is accepting sealed bids to rehabilitate three railroad grade crossings on the Ware River Branch. The project is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Rail and Transit Division (MassDOT). This Invitation for Bids is issued pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, §39M.
THE PROJECT: The work is in Palmer, MA, and Ware, MA, on the Ware River Branch, which runs northeast from Palmer, MA, to So. Barre, MA. Furnish labor, equipment and material to reconstruct three grade crossings. Contractor must show evidence of having worked on an active railroad on a project of equal or greater value and was able to complete the work with no impacts to railroad operations. Construction cost estimate is $1,650,000.
Bidders must be prequalified by MBTA in Class 1–General Transit Construction and/or Class 3–Trackwork for a $1.65 million contract value.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting be held on Thurs., January 19, 2023, 10:00 a.m. Meet at the Palmer Town Building, 4417 Main St., Palmer, MA. In the event of inclement weather that postpones the pre-bid meeting, notice will be given at least 24 hours in advance.
Bids will not be accepted from bidders who do not attend the pre-bid meeting. Sealed paper bids must be delivered to Rob Finley, MCER, 2 Wilbraham St., Palmer, MA 01069 by Thurs., February 2, 2023, 2:00 p.m. Sealed bids will be publicly opened at Palmer Town Building, 4417 Main St., Palmer, MA, at 2:30 p.m.
