General Contractors for the exterior restoration of the Easton Town Hall

The Select Board of the Town of Easton, Massachusetts, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors for the exterior restoration of the Easton Town Hall, located at 136 Elm Street in North Easton, MA, in accordance with the documents prepared by architects Spencer, Sullivan & Vogt.

The scope of the work includes:

• Removal and legal disposal of asbestos-containing caulking and putty at windows
• Restoration, rebuilding and replacement of designated areas of exterior wood trim and framing
• Wood window restoration.
• Selective replacement of sheet metal flashings (Roofing filed sub-bid)
• Selective replacement of flat-seamed copper roofs and flashings (Roofing filed sub-bid)
• Replacement of copper gutters (Roofing filed sub-bid)
• Stripping of paint at existing exterior wood trim (Painting filed sub-bid)
• Preparation, priming and finish painting of wood trim (Painting filed sub-bid)

The work is estimated to cost $1,000,000

General bidders must be DCAMM certified in the category “Historic Building”. Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified in their respective trades. All bids must include a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Update Statement. General Bidders and Filed Sub-bidders shall have completed similar work on at least 3 buildings listed in the State Register of Historic Places within the past 5 years.

General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the Town of Easton
