INVITATION FOR BIDS
FOXBORO FREIGHT SIDING AND BRIDGE
Mass Coastal Railroad is accepting sealed bids for freight railroad improvements to the Framingham Secondary in Foxborough. The project is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Rail and Transit Division (MassDOT). This Invitation for Bids is issued pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, §39M.
THE PROJECT: On the Framingham Secondary in Foxborough, rehabilitate the freight siding; relocate and/or install two mainline switches and two siding switches; replace superstructure mainline bridge at MP 5.19 and install a new bridge for siding track at MP 5.19. At Rte. 1 (Washington Street) build protective concrete crash wall at the Rte. 1 highway bridge. Contractor must show evidence of having worked on an active railroad and was able to complete the work with no or few shutdowns and no impacts to Operations. Construction cost estimate is $3,883,000.
Bidders must provide the following information to be considered qualified to perform the work: 1. List of equipment which will be used including hi-rail equipment; 2. Completed Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price; 3. List of all work within the last three years of similar size and scope demonstrating Bidder’s experience and qualifications for this project as described above; 4. List of ongoing projects and three references from projects listed; and 5. Approved FRA drug and alcohol testing plan.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting & site tour will be held on Thurs., July 12, 2018, 10:30 a.m. Meet inside MBTA Walpole station, 275 West St., Walpole. Enter parking lot & approach building. Use small private crossing next to building to access unpaved storage yard. RSVP: rcfinley@verizon.net.
Bids will not be accepted from bidders who do not attend the pre-bid meeting. Sealed Bids must be delivered to Mass Coastal Railroad, 3065 Cranberry Highway, Ste. 5, East Wareham, MA 02538, by Thurs., July 26, 2018, 2:00 p.m. Bids will be publicly opened forthwith after the bid submission deadline at the Mass Coastal Railroad office, 3065 Cranberry Highway, Ste. 5, East Wareham, MA.
