1926 First Parish in Framingham Meetinghouse

Invitation to Bid

The Board of Assessors of First Parish in Framingham, Framingham, Massachusetts, requests bids for the repair of a steeple window, wood gutters, repointing stone steps, fixing loose metal sheeting, installing flashing and metal sheeting around the clock tower, securing loose slates, and replace missing slate on the roof of the 1926 First Parish in Framingham Meetinghouse, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The project is partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must be performed in accordance with the documents prepared by SSV Architects, 1 Thompson Square, Suite 204, Charlestown MA 02129 (telephone (617) 861-4291) and meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. State law prohibits discrimination. Awarding of the contract is subject to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines. A copy of the bidding documents may be obtained by writing or telephoning the architect at the above address.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at First Parish in Framingham on the corner of Edgell Road and Vernon Street on November 21, 10 a.m.

Bids shall be evaluated on the basis of price, previous experience with similar types of construction projects, ability to perform the work in a timely manner, and references. All bids must be delivered to the architect’s office at the above address prior to December 1, to be eligible for consideration and all of the grant-funded work must be completed by June 30, 2024.
