Joan Smith McLean departed this life peacefully, June 3, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Joan was a member of Peoples Baptist Church, Boston, for 75 years! She worked faithfully for her Savior.

She was the President of the Adella Klugh Missionary Society for over 40 years. Joan served on the Senior Usher Board, was Supervisor of the Junior Usher Board, and started the USDA Food Distribution Program, food pantry at Peoples Baptist Church.

Among her many accomplishments and talents, Joan was an LPN, received her B.A. from Cambridge College, and held 2 master’s degrees from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. She also owned and operated her own Nursing home. Mrs. McLean was an avid Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots fan.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Donata and Byron Martin, Renee Heidi and Jesse Atchison and 11 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter and son: Sonda June Williams and Kenneth Nicholas McLean Jr.

She will be greatly missed by her family, and a host of relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend visitation on Monday June 17th 11:00 am.- 12:00 pm Peoples Baptist Church, 134 Camden Street, Boston, MA. 02118. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM.
