WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

WATER DIVISION

The Town of Easton is accepting applications for qualified individuals to fill the position of full time Water Treatment Plant Operator for the Department of Public Works Water Division, 40 hours per week with a Tuesday through Saturday work week. The position performs skilled technical work in all aspects of water treatment and distribution system maintenance, with particular focus on enhanced water quality and filter maintenance. Conducts and trains operators to perform routine water quality tests, determines water filter procedures and keeps accurate records.

Minimum Qualifications:  Associates Degree in environmental or chemical engineering or related field; 5 years of progressive responsible experience in water treatment processes; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements:  Class B Commercial Drivers License; Massachusetts Public Safety Hoisting License 1B; Massachusetts Drinking Water Supply Facilities License Grade 3 Distribution and Grade 2 Treatment or Grade 3 combined.

This is a union position with excellent benefits including a municipal pension system and Step 1 is $41.808 per hour. The anticipated hiring range is $41.808–$46.902 per DOQ hour ($86,960.64 – $97,556.16 if annualized)– full career salary range is $86,960.64 – $107,153.28 per hour. The successful candidate must provide proof of an acceptable driving record from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
