Executive Director

DESCRIPTION: The Orleans Housing Authority (OHA) is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for the management of 11 units of Chapter 705 Housing, 100 units of Chapter 667 Elderly/Handicapped housing, 16 units of Chapter 689 Disabled Housing and 7 MRVPs. Responsible for overseeing 13 units of Affordable housing in the town of Eastham 1 unit for the Wellfleet housing authority and 1 unit for the Orleans Housing Trust. Candidate should be familiar with Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) program requirements. Required work hours are 37.5 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in public or private housing, community development, public administration, non-profit administration or related field that demonstrates strong management and organization skills. Excellent written and verbal skills required.
A willingness to work with people of various socio-economic backgrounds is required as well as a willingness and interest in working with tenants on a personal level. Knowledge of the principles and practices of housing management, finances and maintenance systems in public or private housing is desired. Certification as a Massachusetts Public Housing Administrator (MPHA) desired or must be obtained within one year
of employment.
Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with centralized public housing wait list, housing software, HUD and EOHLC databases and reporting systems desired. Other preferred credentials include graduation from an accredited four year college or university, and a passion for the mission.
Salary is commensurate with experience and education and is negotiable between $80,000 and $85,700. The position includes excellent benefits. The candidate will be subject to certain qualification verification prior to employment.
