English Department: First-Year Writing Program Part-time Lecturers (non-tenure track)

Tufts University, English Department

Website

The First-Year Writing Program at Tufts University invites applications for part-time lecturer positions, starting in Fall 2025. Lecturers will teach one or more courses in one academic year on the Medford and/or SMFA campuses.  These composition courses are part of the university’s foundation requirements and are aimed at ensuring students have the writing skills to succeed at the college level.  The program offers special versions of these courses for international students for whom English is an additional language.

Qualifications

PhD, ABD, or MFA are required, as well as experience in teaching expository writing  at the university or college level.

Application Instructions

Applicants should submit a letter of application that includes a section describing the candidate’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applicants should also submit a CV, a writing sample (no more than 15 pages), a sample syllabus for expository writing along with three letters of recommendation, submitted directly by the recommenders and uploaded to  Interfolio. Review of applications begins on March 1, 2025 and continues until the positions are filled. All offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a background check.
