The Newport Jazz Festival, which took place at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI, has been an annual event since 1954!

The Festival was founded by George Wein and its current Artistic Director — the legendary standup bass musician, Christian McBride.

This year’s festival took place August 2nd through 4th and featured over 60 musical performances. Artists included were Herbie Hancock, Thundercat, Dee Dee Bridgewater, the Ron Carter trio, Ravi Coltrane, Kamasi Washington, Terrence Blanchard, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Alphonso Horn, Tank and the Bangas and Common! Fans were treated to Jazz, Blues, Soul and Hip Hop Music under beautiful blue skies at this epic waterfront park.

Save the date for next year’s 66th Newport Jazz Festival July 31st–August 2nd, 2020! For more information email Jazz@newportfestivals.org.
