On Saturday, May 17, members of the Boston University School of Medicine Class of 2014 gathered to celebrate their graduation from medical school. Dr. Jonathan Woodson, Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs), delivered the Keynote Address during the ceremony. Prior to his appointment by President Obama, Dr. Woodson served as Associate Dean for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and Professor of Surgery at the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM), and senior attending vascular surgeon at Boston Medical Center (BMC).
The Nigerian Catholic Men of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Roxbury hosted a special Mother’s Day celebration for the Nigerian Catholic Women Organization (NCWO). (l-r) are Florence Nwoko, Chioma Ogbonnanze, Sabine Chibueze and Uche Uchendu, president of the NCWO. The celebrants wore blue and white in honor of the Virgin Mary, their patron saint.
