Mayor Martin J. Walsh participated in an Ornament Making Workshop on Saturday, December 13th at the Grove Hall branch of the Boston Public Library. The activity was led by sparc! the ArtMobile, part of MassArt’s Center for Art and Community Partnerships, and was held in partnership with Project R.I.G.H.T. and the Library. Following the workshop, the ornaments were placed on the Grove Hall Holiday Tree, which was lit by the Mayor himself.
Simone Cowan was recently selected by the United Nations Foundation to be a Girl Up Teen Advisor for 2014-2015. She was selected as one of 20 girls from more than 250 girls from around the country that were nominated for the position. In this role she will travel around the U.S. raising awareness about the Girl Up mission by participating in press conferences, planning events, and advocating on behalf of girls in need in developing countries.
