Boston Police Commissioner William Evans leads a press conference on a police shooting. After Edwin Guity, 22, of Dorchester, stabbed an officer with a wooden stake last Thursday, the officer shot Guity in the leg. Guity was critically injured in the shooting, but is expected to survive. The wooden stake tore through the officer’s jacket, but did not puncture his bullet-proof vest.
