Tafuta! A Young Child’s Search for the True Meaning of Kwanzaa

Tafuta – written, produced and directed by Shaumba-Yandje Dibinga – blends music, dance and spoken word to tell the story of a young child who is bullied in school because of her family’s tradition of celebrating Kwanzaa. The child ultimately embraces her heritage, discovers her voice and triumphs over the bullies. Tafuta! is the only play of its kind and is surely going to make audiences understand the importance of family and traditions.  The cast includes children ages 7-16 from all over Massachusetts including students from private, public and charter schools.  This is a high energy musical theater performance filled with lots of amazing acting, dancing, singing and fun for all ages!

There will be two shows on Dec. 30th – 2pm & 6:30pm
