Sun Music presents Jacques Schwarz-Bart Quartet with Stephanie McKay at the Regattabar @ The Charles Hotel in Cambidge, MA. The band will perform songs from his latest album release, The Harlem Suite.

The Harlem Suite recounts Jacques’ childhood dream of coming to NY from his little island of Guadeloupe to become a jazz musician. The compositions reflect the musical wisdom Jacques inherited from playing with some of the greatest musicians of our time: Roy Hargrove’s beautiful sound and impeccable phrasing, D’Angelo’s visionary grooves and unique intensity, Meshell Ndegeocello’s sense of mystery and poetry.

The tunes and arrangements celebrate each step of his perilous, but rewarding 20-year journey, spent in this iconic part of New York. Many of the songs are inspired by the harsh human reality reflected in the disenfranchised lives of Black people in urban environments, while paying tribute to Harlem’s history as the birthplace of several musical revolutions.
