Open Call for Writing Submissions: Writing Our Truth in the Park

Join author Nakia Hill in exploring spatial justice and writing about our personal connections to
Boston’s public parks. All girls and women are welcome to submit their written work. BIPOC women and girls are highly encouraged to submit their written work.

This intergenerational book project will uplift women and girls by celebrating their stories, essays, and poems about their memories and experiences in Boston’s neighborhood parks. All pieces of writing submitted will be considered to be published in a professionally bound book with each author’s consent. This special book project is expected to be released before the close of 2023.

REQUIREMENTS                                                                                                                                                Writers can submit up to 1500 words/6 pages or less double spaced of written work which includes
poems, short stories or essays. Short pieces are welcomed of 500 words or 2 pages or less. All written work must be centered around Boston public parks and/or focus on the concept of spatial justice.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT
Friday, March 17 by Midnight
