50 % of event proceeds will go to the Black and Missing Foundation. Let’s talk, connect, share and honor the gone and missing who are too often forgotten by law enforcement and media.
Why?
It is called a “silent epidemic” because of the disproportionate rates by which BIPOC—Black, Indigenous, and People of Color—women, and girls go missing and the disparate treatment their cases receive by law enforcement and media. A collaborative effort from grassroots Boston BIPOC women, Mics for Missing #micsforthemisssing aims to draw more attention to the hundreds of thousands of missing BIPOC women and girls throughout the U.S. The in-person event will be held in Boston on February 3rd, National Missing Persons Day.
