ABCD Health Services hosts film screening for Black Maternal Health Week

Did you know the rate of pregnancy-related death for Black women is almost three times the rate for white women?

ABCD Health Services invites you to a free community screening of the award-winning film Birthing Justice in recognition of Black Maternal Health Week. This moving film demonstrates the complex obstacles Black women experience when accessing the reproductive and maternal healthcare systems.

A panel discussion exploring Black maternal health, infant mortality, and health inequities will follow the screening. The panel will be moderated by ABCD Health Services Medical Director Dr. Frinny Polanco Walters. Panelists include Dr. Ndidiamaka Amutah-Onukagha (Tufts University), Tiffany Vassell, RN (Neighborhood Birth Center), and Sharon T. Callendar, RN, MPH (Mattapan Community Health Center).

Light refreshments will be served. Free giveaways will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The film screening and panel are both free to attend but please RSVP at bostonabcd.org/birthingjustice
