9th Annual Juneteenth Emancipation Observation
Museum of The National Center of Afro American Artists and the Boston Juneteenth Committee present the 9th annual Juneteenth emancipation Observation honoring the day in 1865 when the enslaved in Texas finally learned that they were free and became emancipated.
The theme is Preparations for Reparations: In Reverence to Our Ancestors. It features a keynote speech by Retired Senator William “Bill” Owens who will be making the case for reparations. There will be music, food and community vendors and more. Free to the public.
