ABCD has two new and exciting innovative Multi year Department of Labor funded demonstration programs opening the door to today’s fastest growing employment industries for Boston families and we want you to join our team as we transform lives with our GATE and Pathways to Justice programs.

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS!

ABCD’s GATE program will offer job training readiness in the financial services, health care, and computer technology industries for unemployed or underemployed Boston resident parents. The program will support training participants with customized child care in order for them to obtain the necessary tools and training to be successful in their career.

Project Manager

Plan, develop, and manage the coordination of workforce development and child care systems for low- to middle- skilled parents as well as coordinate all program-level activities for the Strengthening Working Families Initiative, including intake/assessment, referrals for education, training and support services, data tracking and reporting.

Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Human Services, or related field, and three to five years of relevant experience required. Demonstrated experience working with community-based education, skill training and childcare providers. Excellent creative and entrepreneurial talents, along with a willingness to take risks and develop new initiatives.

Work Family Services Coordinator

Facilitate the Information and Referral services for families of all abilities, income, cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic backgrounds. Provide information and support to consumers around work/family child care issues, and provide child care resource and referral directly to private employers, institutions and other organizations. This position also oversees program data management and development of statistical reports.

Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Early Childhood Education, or related field, and three to five years of experience dealing with operation of child care information and referral services required.

Support Services Navigator

Develop systems and resources to address education and training barriers participants. Assist program participants in navigating the complex childcare system, to facilitate access to childcare resources specific to their individual needs.

Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field, and one to three years experience in the childcare field required. Experience in working with a diverse customer base, knowledge of Boston’s neighborhoods, and familiarity with local childcare business.

Intake / Assessment Specialist

Provide individual assessments for program applicants, in order to customize services that will lead participants to training completion, employment and job retention. Maintain a caseload of students, and manage their goal setting and attainment as well as refer them to appropriate services.

Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma /GED, and one to three years of related experience required. Bachelor’s degree in education and counseling preferred.

ABCD’s Pathways to Justice program creates a new avenue for inner city youth involved in the court system or are at risk to embark on a career path in government service fields. Throughout the program participants are partnered with public employers including Police Department, Fire Department, and emergency medical services where they are mentored through the career exploration process and provided employment opportunities as well as college credits.

Program / Mentor Coordinator

Oversee all program activities. Develop mentor recruitment, training and supervision systems. Work closely with participating youth, training providers, academic partners and professional mentors to build a coordinated program of career exploration, education and support.

Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Early Childhood Education, or related field, and three to five years of experience working with at-risk youth required.

Job Developer / Placement Coordinator

Work closely with participants and employer partners to build job-readiness skills. Maintain and expand employer relationships to ensure unsubsidized placement opportunities. Identify appropriate worksite placements. Ensure effective worksite learning experiences for youth.

Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma/GED, and one to three years of relevant work experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Counseling or related field preferred. Experience working with disadvantaged adult and youth populations.

Case Manager

Work closely with job developers, employers and other program partners to ensure that each youth has an individualized service plan which meets his or her needs. Provide orientation, screening, intake and assessment for potential program participant. Facilitate successful transition into employment.

Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma/GED, and one to three years of experience required. Bachelor’s degree in education and counseling preferred.
