Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation is a leading private investor and lender specializing in financing affordable housing and community development throughout New England. We seek experienced candidates to fill two positions:

Project Impact Officer: This position is responsible for the implementation, development, and on-going health of our MBE program, which encompasses both employment and business relationship goals. Duties include statistical analysis, relationship development, project tracking and intervention, database maintenance and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the construction industry, including knowledge of trades and subcontract bidding processes.
  • Project Management experience (with a contractor or developer) and/or estimating experience a plus, as is exposure to certified payroll.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Detail Oriented.

Investment Officer: This position is responsible for marketing, acquisition and administration of a portfolio of loan and equity products offered by MHIC, including pre-development, acquisition, construction, bridge, low income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credit, and healthy neighborhoods equity fund transactions. Duties include negotiation, underwriting, closing, compliance monitoring, due diligence performance, proposal preparation, and administrative tasks such as approval of construction requisitions, maintenance of credit files, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial or real estate lending, affordable housing, or related field.
  • Experience in financial analysis; banking experience and credit training preferred.
  • College degree in business, finance, planning or related field required; Masters preferred.
  • Computer literacy, especially in particular spreadsheet analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing with colleagues and external partners.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative.
