Family Support Specialist

Project Hope works in partnership with families so they can move up and out of poverty. We do this by being a catalyst for change in the lives of families an in the systems that keep them poor; developing and providing family support solutions for homelessness and poverty; and advocating for just public policies that strengthen families.
We are seeking a Family Support Specialist to provide supervision and support to parents and children residing at our Shelter. This is a part time position, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., when the shelter is at its busiest. Duties include ensuring that families’ needs are met, supporting positive parenting skills, responding to concerns or crises, and maintaining appropriate records.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. B.A. or some college coursework in the field of Early Childhood and/or Human Services preferred;
- Significant experience working with children and families; particularly families who have experienced homelessness;
- Excellent communication skills
- Creativity and an energetic and passionate approach to engaging with children and families.
- Bi-lingual preferred.
