Description of Duties:
The Managing Editor manages the processes involved with the creation of content and its distribution across a variety of internal and external platforms and plays the key role of integrating content and leveraging it across initiatives/programs and through multiple distribution channels. He/she is responsible for expanding inbound content based marketing where content aligns with institutional brand positioning and messaging, and drives program marketing (admissions, advancement, etc). He/she possesses knowledge across both print and digital content but is foremost a digital native who understands and embraces the digital creation, management, distribution and tracking tools that enable the potential of content to be fully realized.
Additional Description of Duties:
- Develop, manage and publish relevant and engaging content for Bentley’s website, mobile, social media and print properties through a blend of created, curated and user-generated content.
- Maintain a consistent and relevant voice across platforms in support of Bentley’s brand and value proposition.
- Create newsworthy content from proprietary research, access to experts and consumer reviews.
- Develop and manage content partnerships with partner sites, appropriate news portals and the blogging community.
- Inform publisher and syndication strategy to extend reach with target segments and improve search engine results.
- Manage content creation and drive the content production process.
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English or communication, and 3-5 years of editing, writing and publication management experience.
Demonstrated success in project management, preferably as it relates to web content and/or promotional/marketing activities.
Demonstrated knowledge across both print and digital content with expertise especially in digital content.
Strong editorial and organizational skills.
Competency in Drupal, Basecamp, Microsoft Office, and web analytics and measurement (ex: Google Analytics).
