Blue Hill Avenue Closed to Cars; Open to the Community to Allow for Play
Thousands of community residents and visitors will head to Blue Hill Avenue on Sunday September 29, 2013 from 1pm – 5pm for the second Circle The City, Boston’s Open Streets event this year to walk, bike, roll, dance and play together in the streets of Boston. Blue Hill Avenue from Dudley Street to Warren Street will be closed to buses and cars to allow for more than 50 free activities for thousands of community residents and visitors to celebrate community on ‘paved parks’ in the streets of Boston. Circle The City will highlight the neighborhood and community resources along the Blue Hill Avenue corridor from Dudley Common to Grove Hall. Activities will include live music and dance, fitness clinics, a historical walking tour, community revitalization efforts featuring innovative green spaces, participatory art projects and active programming for all ages.
