Joanne Goldstein was recently appointed by Gov. Deval Patrick as secretary of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD). Goldstein now serves as the chief of the Attorney General’s Fair Labor Division.

“Joanne has spent years advocating on behalf of working families in the Commonwealth and across the nation to ensure that their rights are protected on the job,” said Governor Patrick. “At this critical time for our workforce, Joanne’s experience in working with labor unions and employers alike will be a tremendous asset to our cabinet.”

Prior to serving in the Attorney General’s Office, Goldstein worked for over a decade as the General Counsel for the Utility Workers Union of America AFL-CIO (UWUA).

Goldstein is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and received her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.

“I am deeply honored to serve in the Governor’s cabinet to ensure that all of our workers, as well as the unemployed and under-employed, are given every resource possible to support their families and reach their full potential in the days to come,” said Goldstein.
