Natick Public Schools welcomes Audi Lynch as its new METCO director. With more than 55 years of participation in the Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity (METCO) program, the district is pleased to continue its commitment under Lynch’s leadership.
Prior to coming to Natick, Lynch spent the last six years at Lexington Public Schools as the METCO social worker. Before that time, he completed clinical internships at Children’s Services of Roxbury and Dever Elementary School.
“I’m thrilled that Audi Lynch has joined Natick Public Schools. With his strong background in equity work and mental health services, he will help guide our district as we begin this school year. I’m confident that Audi will expertly facilitate the ways in which the NPS community supports our families who are part of the METCO program,” said Dr. Melissa Spash, superintendent of schools.
Lynch has a master’s degree in counseling from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a license in mental health counseling. He holds an undergraduate degree from the Berklee College of Music.
Natick Public Schools conducted a thorough search process for its new METCO director, which included interviews with a panel comprised of principals; teachers; a parent affiliated with the METCO program; METCO coordinators; and administrative staff. As part of the process, Dr. Spash; Sue Balboni, assistant superintendent for teaching, learning, innovation and equity; Dr. Art Fergusson, director of clinical services, counseling, SEL & equity; and Julie Skipper, HR director, selected finalists and welcomed families to attend an online meeting with these individuals.
“There is no place like home. As a graduate of the Natick Public School system, I look forward to building upon and adding to an educational community that creates incredible people. I am humbled and grateful to serve,” said Lynch.
Lynch began his role at Natick Public Schools on August 15 and has already started to develop relationships with colleagues and learn about the Natick district and its values. He will be working throughout the district, as he primarily supports Natick’s METCO program at Natick High School, Wilson Middle School and Bennett-Hemenway Elementary School.
