Final call for Spring 2018 Artweek Events

Presented by Highland Street Foundation and produced by the Boch Center, ArtWeek is issuing a final call for applications for its Spring 2018 festival. The final deadline to submit events is Wednesday, February 28. For the first time, ArtWeek events will be held statewide from April 27 – May 6, 2018, and applications can be found at artweekma.org.

ArtWeek is an award-winning, 10-day innovative festival featuring unique and creative experiences that are hands-on, offering new ways to experience art and culture. ArtWeek was born in Boston in 2013 and recently expanded its footprint across the Commonwealth.

Hundreds of creative events are expected to be featured throughout the Commonwealth’s six regions: Greater Boston, North of Boston, South of Boston, Cape & Islands, Central Massachusetts and Western Massachusetts. There are more than 70 events already confirmed for ArtWeek, including workshops for community theater, a hand-dyed silk scarf workshop, a youth-inspired film festival, an open jazz jam improv session, new works for tap dance, a progressive plein air paint week, and more!

Anyone interested in learning more about hosting an ArtWeek event, or looking for general information about the festival, is encouraged to participate in an upcoming webinar:

• Thursday, February 1 at 2:00pm

• Wednesday, February 7 at 12:00pm

“The excitement surrounding ArtWeek continues to grow across the state and we’re seeing an influx of creative event ideas spanning all genres,” said Josiah A. Spaulding, Jr., President & CEO of the Boch Center. “We encourage artists and organizations from all areas of the Commonwealth to submit a unique experience before February 28 and be part of this innovative festival to celebrate arts, culture and creativity of all kinds!”

ArtWeek is presented by Highland Street Foundation and produced by the Boch Center. This year, Mass Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism have joined ArtWeek as Lead Champions in this unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the state’s creative economy. ArtWeek has also secured a network of more than 60 statewide, regional and local collaborators to help promote the upcoming festival.
