
Dr. Gemima St. Louis was recently recognized as a distinguished fellow by the National Academies of Practice. Born and raised in Port au Prince, Haiti, St. Louis and her family immigrated to the United States eventually settling in Boston. Now, a licensed psychologist and certified health service provider, St. Louis currently serves as the Vice President for Workforce Initiatives & Specialty Training and Professor at William James College. Along with her position at William James College, Dr. St. Louis leads workforce development efforts and directs the HRSA-funded STAR Fellowship program. Past positions include serving as Co-Director of the Center for Multicultural & Global Mental Health at William James College; Director and Founder of the Concentration in African & Caribbean Mental Health at William James College; Director of The PATHWAYS Program at William James College; Director of Mental Health Training and Research at The SPARK Center at Boston Medical Center; Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at Boston University School of Medicine; Clinical Director at the Center for Community Health, Education and Research; Instructor at Boston College’s Lynch School of Education; and Consulting Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor at Children’s Services of Roxbury. In addition to her professional life, St. Louis is a mother of three and focuses on using her background and expertise to combat disparities in access to mental health care.
