Kimberly R. Lyle was recently appointed by Gov. Maura Healey to serve on the board of MassDevelopment. Lyle is currently the CEO of the Boston-based economic development agency Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation, where she leads the organization in its mission of economic and community development throughout the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan.
Lyle earned her B.A. in philosophy from Rutgers University and her master’s in public policy from Tufts University. She began at the Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation in 2016 as the director of strategy and development before transitioning to CEO in 2022. Prior to her time there, Lyle held positions in tech and higher education business operations.
In addition to her successful career, her dedication to civic leadership is equally impressive. Prior to this appointment, she served on five different boards: Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation and Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative as a board member, Roxbury Neighborhood Council as vice chair, Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations as the vice president of the board of directors, and Cooperative Fund of the Northeast as the president of the board of directors.
With this new role as a board member of MassDevelopment, Lyle will participate in investment and initiative strategic planning, approve financing for various projects throughout the state and oversee programs that support affordable housing and small businesses.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to ensuring that historically marginalized communities have the financial tools and resources they need to thrive. I look forward to working with my fellow board members and MassDevelopment’s leadership to advance this mission and build long-term economic resilience across Massachusetts,” Lyle said in a press release.
