Corey Thomas was recently named chair of the board of directors of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Thomas is currently chairman and CEO of the Boston-based software company Rapid7, a leading public cybersecurity software company valued at about $3.5 billion. Thomas received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University before earning his MBA from Harvard in business administration and general management. He began as the senior vice president of Rapid7 in 2008 and became president in 2012. In January 2019 Thomas was named chairman and CEO. Thomas is philanthropically inclined as well. He previously served on the board of The Home for Little Wanderers. Thomas currently volunteers with WBUR and serves on the Board of LPL Financial and the board of trustees at his alma matter, Vanderbilt University. He is an angel investor for a multitude of technology companies and uses his free time to advise companies and organizations on technological advancements they might be making.

Thomas is also an angel investor in several tech companies, a member of the independent think tank Council on Foreign Relations, a director and deputy chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and a member of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts board of directors, among other commitments. Before Rapid7, Corey worked extensively at companies such as Microsoft, Deloitte and AT&T.
