Dr. Sebastian Hamilton, BSPharm, RPh, PharmD, MBA, 340B ACE, will now serve as the Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer of NeighborHealth.
Dr. Hamilton’s history within the public health sector is prodigious, having spent most of his career focused on the well-being of his patients and teaching others how to do so. Dr. Hamilton received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York, before receiving his MBA from Wilmington University in Health Care Administration and his Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from the University of Florida. Dr. Hamilton’s career in public health has primed him to be an ideal candidate for the position.
Before moving to Boston, Dr.Hamilton worked as the Director of Outpatient and Pharmacy Services for the Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware, from 1999 to 2015. Following that position, Dr. Hamilton became the Director of Outpatient and Retail Pharmacy Services at Boston Medical Center, where he worked for 11 years and would go on to become the Chief Pharmacy Officer.

I’m honored to work alongside such a dedicated pharmacy team, and together, we will continue expanding access to high-quality, affordable care.”
Dr. Hamilton’s experience in public service is extensive, as the Bronx native worked as a contract pharmacist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for almost two decades before transitioning to work full time at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Hamilton has also served on the board of registration in pharmacy for the Massachusetts Department of Health and served as the president of the board of registration in pharmacy in 2022. He is also a board trustee for the Codman Academy Charter Public School. In his new position as Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer for NeighborHealth, he will be able to migrate the skills and experience he has garnered over the past several decades to ensure the success of Neighborhealth and the community that it serves.
In this role, Dr. Hamilton will lead NeighborHealth’s growing pharmacy operations, including brick-and-mortar locations, specialty pharmacy services, and the statewide delivery program, ensuring seamless access to affordable medications for patients across Massachusetts. Dr. Hamilton will also implement other key innovative strategies like artificial intelligence that will be instrumental in enhancing NeighborHealth’s operational efficiencies.
