State Representative Chynah Tyler was one of six women leaders honored as trailblazers and “Advocates of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” at the Massachusetts Trial Court’s 4th Annual Women’s History Month Celebration and Conference at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute in Boston on Wednesday. More than 200 women attended the event, which featured an awards ceremony.
Representative Tyler, who accepted the award, spoke about the challenges and triumphs of women blazing trails in leadership roles.
State Representative Tyler is vice-chair of the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight, a member of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, Emergency Preparedness and Management, and a member of the Committee on Ways and Means. State Representative Tyler is also the former Chair of the Black and Latino Caucus and the Boston Delegation. She was first elected in 2017 at 26 years old. Representative Tyler previously worked as a caseworker for federal inmates and was once an intern at the Roxbury Probation Department.
