Janelle Woods-McNish has been named the chief marketing and diversity officer for The Trustees, according to Katie Theoharides, president and CEO of the Massachusetts-based organization.

Woods-McNish will oversee marketing and communications, membership and customer relations, while continuing to focus on The Trustees’ DEI strategy; volunteerism; and community impact.

“In her tenure with The Trustees, Janelle has shown outstanding leadership and consensus-building skills,” Theoharides said. “I am thrilled she agreed to step into this new role to help guide our communications and marketing efforts, grow our membership and welcome new audiences to the organization. She is a tremendous asset to The Trustees.”

Since 2022, Woods-McNish has served as vice president of community impact at The Trustees, a new position for the 132-year-old nonprofit organization. Her new role elevates her to the organization’s executive team where she will focus on enhancing the Trustees’ brand, developing external partnerships and welcoming and expanding audiences.

Woods-McNish brings more than 15 years of experience leading operations and strategy across various disciplines. She joined The Trustees in 2020 as managing director of community impact.

“I am delighted to continue my journey with The Trustees in this new and expanded capacity,” Woods-McNish said. “I am inspired by the great work ahead of us and look forward to contributing to our compelling mission and to ensuring our special places are welcoming and accessible to everyone, forever.”

Prior to joining The Trustees, Woods-McNish served as director of service and giving at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation for 13 years.

She serves on the Boys & Girls Club of Boston’s board of trustees and is an advisory council member and corporator for Needham Bank. She also serves as the Boston Chapter president for Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

Woods-McNish is a graduate of Texas A&M University and Boston College, where she received her bachelor of business administration degree in marketing and international business and master of arts in higher education administration, respectively. She also earned a master’s in business administration from Simmons College.
