REPORTS TO: Program Director
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Provide individual and group counseling. Provide education and counseling in specialize area of public health concerns. Responsible for maintaining the safety of clients and provide understanding and direction to the clients.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to use Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Ability to formulate treatment plan and provide timely documentation
- Ability to interact with parents, criminal justice and social service systems
- Attend biweekly individual supervision
- Conduct screening, interview, intake and assessments
- Ensure that the program policies are followed and document any deviation of said policies
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have in good standing a LICSW, LMHC or LCSW
- Be knowledgeable of the current continuum of care system
- Must have effective speaking and writing skills
- Three years in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse
- Knowledge of laws governing confidentiality and rules of ethical behavior
- Ability to work with others
- Personal characteristics of understanding, dedication, warmth, empathy and genuineness are essential
- If in recovery from alcohol or other substances you must have two year of continuous sobriety
- Must meet Massachusetts CORI requirements
- Must have Massachusetts Drives License
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of 12 Step Programs / Self Help Programs
- Knowledge of laws governing confidentiality and rules of ethical behavior
